A First National Bank debit card can be used as an ATM card plus give you the convenience of a credit card to purchase goods, pay for services or even cash. VISA CHECK CARD


What is a Visa check card, and how is it different from a Visa credit card? A Visa check card is a type of "debit" card that looks similar to a credit card but acts like a check because the purchase amount is deducted from the cardholder's checking account. Cardholders can make purchases at millions of Visa debit locations worldwide. The Visa check card can be used at locations such as supermarkets, retail stores, restaurants, gas stations, and Internet sites.

Cardholders may use their Visa check card by signing for their purchases. Unlike Visa credit cards, many Visa check cards may be used with a personal identification number (PIN) to request "cash back" when making a purchase at certain stores. An estimated 25 percent of merchant locations that accept the Visa check card also allow cardholders to make a PIN-based transaction. Many Visa check cards may also be used to withdraw cash from ATMs.

A Visa check card is a payment product that automatically deducts purchase amounts from cardholders' checking accounts, just like withdrawing cash or writing a check. Unlike a credit card, the Visa check card does do not accrue interest charges because the money is deducted from cardholders' checking accounts.
